Easter Time...2009

I'm a little late with this post...but it's been a busy week at school after an AWESOME Easter weekend. Our first order of Easter business was a church Easter egg hunt which was so much fun! Payne loved every minute of it!

Then, in backwards fashion, we dyed Easter eggs after the egg hunt! Payne and his cousin Jordan had a great time together decorating their eggs.

Sweet Jordan and Payne so proud of their eggs!!

Then we did the Easter morning basket (which was actually a beach pail with a dinosaur on it)...it was sort of sad to tell Payne to hurry up and look at his stuff...now quick...we have to get ready for church! But he didn't seem to mind (not that you can tell by the looks of this picture). And of course in the frenzy I forgot to take a picture of the basket itself before he tore into it...but I promise it was cute! I was too busy getting made fun of by Bryan for putting the basket in front of the fireplace...he said he guessed the Easter Bunny comes down the chimney too!

Then we were off to church...Payne looking cool in his shades! We did have to carry one item from his Easter basket with us to church (his Spiderman bop-it which is in his lap in this pic...told him we were not taking it in!)

After our wonderful Easter service...we went to Payne's grandparents' house to see what the Easter Bunny brought him there (did you know that the Easter Bunny brings multiple baskets for the same child in different locations??) As you can see, Payne wasn't in the picture taking mood. I told him, "This picture of you being silly WILL go on my blog!" It didn't seem to make a difference to him!

Once we went outside...he cheered up a bit! I think he was worn out from playing at church.

Playing baseball with Grandaddy...

Then we were off to lunch at Bryan's Aunt Shelby's house. Payne got to play with his cousins and have another egg hunt.

Payne and Nathan with their new bubble machine toys.

None of them would all look at the camera at the same time...this is the best we got!

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend and the biggest reason was because of the reminder of how much God sacrificed for us by not only sending his Son to die for our sins...but for bringing Him back so that He can live in us for eternity!

Spring Break 2009...Sad to See it Go!

We have finished up with our first week back to school since Spring Break...and it went better than I thought with everyone getting back into the swing of things. Of course I missed my family terribly on Monday and Payne had quite an adjustment after being with us all week...but it all worked out and here we are and its Friday! Below are some pics of some of the things we did during our restful week. We talked about going away for a couple of days but never could agree on a place...so we chilled at home which was nice too!

On the rainy days we put up a tent that Payne got for Christmas in our den...I just put it back up in the closet one night this week!

One day Payne even drug
his Franklin chair into
the tent to play on his laptop...
or as he says, "Checking his email."

Then we promised Payne that we would take him to the zoo, so he got ready by himself (his new thing lately)...as you can see it was a Sperry shoe, pajama, baseball cap combo.

Needless to say...we didn't keep this outfit on. But we couldn't go to the zoo because of the rain...so we settled for the park in case we had to make a quick getaway in the rain. Sadly, we were the only ones at the park and we didn't get to stay long because it began drizzling...but Payne was satisfied for a little bit!

Our little Spiderman couldn't quite figure out how to get to the middle of this contraption!

Then at the end of the break, we went to see Disney Live with some friends...we had a blast!! Of course Payne kept saying all week that we were going to Disneyworld...hard to explain, so I didn't really try to, but he wasn't disappointed. To him it WAS Disneyworld!

Here are Avery and Payne with their matching Mickey and Minnie toys!

Waiting on Mickey Mouse...

...and he finally arrived!

Payne's favorite was "Little Einsteins"

Although the popcorn he and Avery shared seemed to be a close second to the show itself!

Overall, we had a fantastic Spring Break! It was sad to leave the family to go back to work...but I know that we only have less than 40 school days left until the summer!! And Payne really missed us that first day...he told me how much he missed me when I picked him up and he said later, "Mommy, you make my heart so happy!" Now that...is priceless!
