Then, in backwards fashion, we dyed Easter eggs after the egg hunt! Payne and his cousin Jordan had a great time together decorating their eggs.
Sweet Jordan and Payne so proud of their eggs!!
Then we did the Easter morning basket (which was actually a beach pail with a dinosaur on it)...it was sort of sad to tell Payne to hurry up and look at his stuff...now quick...we have to get ready for church! But he didn't seem to mind (not that you can tell by the looks of this picture). And of course in the frenzy I forgot to take a picture of the basket itself before he tore into it...but I promise it was cute! I was too busy getting made fun of by Bryan for putting the basket in front of the fireplace...he said he guessed the Easter Bunny comes down the chimney too!
Then we were off to church...Payne looking cool in his shades! We did have to carry one item from his Easter basket with us to church (his Spiderman bop-it which is in his lap in this pic...told him we were not taking it in!)
After our wonderful Easter service...we went to Payne's grandparents' house to see what the Easter Bunny brought him there (did you know that the Easter Bunny brings multiple baskets for the same child in different locations??) As you can see, Payne wasn't in the picture taking mood. I told him, "This picture of you being silly WILL go on my blog!" It didn't seem to make a difference to him!
Once we went outside...he cheered up a bit! I think he was worn out from playing at church.
Playing baseball with Grandaddy...
Then we were off to lunch at Bryan's Aunt Shelby's house. Payne got to play with his cousins and have another egg hunt.
Payne and Nathan with their new bubble machine toys.
None of them would all look at the camera at the same time...this is the best we got!
We had such a wonderful Easter weekend and the biggest reason was because of the reminder of how much God sacrificed for us by not only sending his Son to die for our sins...but for bringing Him back so that He can live in us for eternity!
